Growing Team
The WKM team is now eight strong and will be nine in June and likely ten by the end of this year. This growth in numbers is to provide both strength in depth and add new skillsets to the WKM team as a whole. We have ensured that we are ahead of the curve so that our continued growth as a business, allows us to maintain the highest level of service. The new additions to the WKM team will help us achieve this. Whilst we remain diminutive in number our reach is much greater.
When one thinks about financial services, financial advice and investment management, some will take a view that large organisations offer the best fit. Size provides a feeling of comfort, perhaps brand awareness, a trusted name, longevity of a business points towards experience and knowledge. This can all be true of course, but it belies the key point about why a business is doing what it is doing.
WKM’s culture
At WKM it is a simple doctrine of aligning ourselves with our client. We aim to have low client numbers, clients who value our advice and where we feel we can provide an unparalleled service and achieve their objectives. We draw upon 100 years of financial services experience, much more than will be available to clients at many larger businesses. We have a wealth of contacts in the industry on which we can call, who provide external input and resource, we do not live in corporate silos.
We are independent
Importantly we are independent. Our starting position is creating your financial plan and ensure it is aligned to objectives. As we move through your financial journey the plan is updated and reflective of changes in your lives. Many larger organisations are not independent, and you may notice that more emphasis is placed on the products that you have bought rather than providing you with an actual financial plan; have you ever seen your net worth graphically presented from meeting to meeting?
Not all financial services business’s aim to provide the same thing. Many larger ones are accountable to external shareholders with an eye on profit where clients are in reality commodities not people. Some manage so much money (multi-billions) that investment success is noted has being ahead of peers rather than ahead of targeted returns. Planning is controlled and vanilla, the solution is the product not the plan. Costs are increasing and disproportionate.
We are here to change that. Bringing the benefits of technology and efficiency, but with the very personal approach. The deep knowledge without the cost. The availability and transparency, the trusted approach. We very much believe that this is what our client deserves, and this is what we enjoy providing.
