Hi, my name is Chris Pople. I’ve been a client of WKM for around six months now, and the name of my adviser is Neil Wattam.

I contacted WKM to start collating the pensions that I had from around seven different companies that I’d worked for, together with my wife’s pensions as well – she’d got six. We were looking for advice on how to combine them best and make them work for us.

My aspiration was to come out of it with some good advice on what to do with the seven pensions that I’d got, and secondly, the aspiration for my wife was around collating her pensions but also finding what other pensions she may have out there. She’d worked for something like 13 different organisations, so we’d really lost track.

I did some initial research on the website, and they looked like a really credible organisation. I like how they were basically four friends who joined forces and worked for other organisations before realising they could provide a more defined and tailored service. My experience with WKM, and Neil in particular, has been superb. Neil has given really quality advice based on the financial position my wife and I are in. Once he established our pension provision and started to work on options around collating that, he asked her about our ISA provision, and he gave really good, sound advice about how we can make the cash that we have readily available to us work harder.

I feel much more reassured about my financial future. Having worked with Neil, he’s given me a vision of what the next 10 to 15 years will look like for my wife and me. It’s given me that reassurance that, when I reach the age of 60 or 65, we’ll be in a really good position to at least be able to make some decisions about our working lives, which is really what I was looking for.

I can pick up the phone with Neil and ask him for advice about what I should do if I inherit some money, if my job situation changes, if our financial position changes, or if we want to spend some of the money that we have invested. He’s given me that confidence, and he’s given me peace of mind, particularly around my pension and what my retirement and our retirement as a family will look like.

The best thing about working with Neil and WKM has been that they’re easy to do business with. I feel it’s been done in a relaxed but professional environment, with sound advice for my wife and me about the future.

The three words I’d use to describe my relationship with WKM are: highly professional; the advice has been given with a degree of integrity; and also, a high level of honesty. I feel that I can trust Neil.

I think the best piece of advice Neil has given me has been around my ISA provision, and that if I have money available to me today that I’m not going to spend and that I don’t need immediately, I should actually invest that in a stocks and shares ISA to make it work harder for me.
