Charles Micklewright

My name is Charles Micklewright, and I have been with WKM for just over two years now, and my adviser is Adrian Mee. I’d lived for a long time with my partner, who died just over two years ago, and it happened that Adrian and I were in touch because of that because we used to do business with Adrian before he worked for and created WKM.

I had an aim, and my aim was to simplify my affairs to the point that I could manage them, as opposed to in the past when my partner looked after everything.

I did know Adrian before WKM, and so in a way, I had a head start. I knew I could trust Adrian with my business affairs and my estate. I didn’t know how it was going to work, but it was a difficult time, and I was very relieved at how efficiently they communicated with me at a time when face-to-face meetings were impossible.

I was really impressed by the way they communicate and the efficiency of the business. There were very quick responses to everything; I had some really tricky hoops to jump through, and I was also very impressed with the way they worked with my solicitors, who were handling the estate.

I feel in a safer and better place because things are organised in a way that I can understand them now, and it just makes my life a lot easier because one of the things that I want to do is not worry about my finances. I want to get on with my life again after going through a very traumatic period.

So how do I feel about it? Well, particularly given the circumstances that we’re living through at the moment, I feel comparatively comfortable in a very turbulent world.

The three words that I would use to describe how I feel about WKM are that I trust them, that I think they have a very efficient operation, which is important, and that I think they listen to you.

I was getting so knotted up about my financial affairs that it was beginning to take over my life. To be told to step back and enjoy my life came as a surprise and is something I’ve taken to heart.

Adrian is a wonderful person to work with, and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any number of my friends who have found themselves in similar situations. And also, WKM – it’s not fusty; it’s young; it embraces new technology; it’s a breath of fresh air. Yes, certainly, I’d recommend them.
